It's one of the largest and most subscribed to directories, but is Salehoo still worth joining when there are bigger alternatives like Worldwide Brands and free to use wholesaler marketplaces like DHGate and Ali Express?
Salehoo is a directory of about 7,000 wholesalers and drop shippers, all certified and guaranteed to be reliable. From these wholesalers, there are about one and a half million products that you can buy directly – but that must be done individually with each supplier, not through the Salehoo interface like on Ali Express or DHGate.
Worldwide Brands is a directory very much like Salehoo, but it's more expensive to join at $299 for membership. However, Worldwide Brands has about ten times the number of products as Salehoo – although they both share the same disadvantages.
DHGate and Ali Express
These are new sites – marketplaces for Chinese wholesalers and drop shippers that want to sell to the rest of the world.
They are both free to join and have millions of products available to buy directly through the site (like eBay) from each supplier. Unlike Salehoo or Worldwide Brands, you can use an app called Oberlo to import their products directly into your store – and even doing order fulfilment easily and automatically.
They are also really cheap – but that's also part of the problem. Sometimes products can be of low quality and delivery is always very slow.
Salehoo is still good if you're looking for high quality products and fast shipping, but if it's just cheap stuff you're after, then DHGate or Ali Express might offer more in 2018 than Salehoo can.
